The 2024 Golden Globes Nominations Unveiled: Star-Studded Lineup Includes Billy Eilish, Dua Lipa, Mika Levi, and Bruce Springsteen!

In the Best Original Song category for Motion Pictures, Bruce Springsteen’s “Barbie Triple-Threat” is up against tough competition: She Came to Me with their track “Addicted to Romance,” Billy Eilish’s “What,” Dua Lipa’s “Dance the Night,” and Ryan Gosling’s “I Am Just Ken,” along with contributions from the Super Mario Bros. movie and Rostam.

Moving on to the Best Original Score for Motion Pictures, Mika Levi’s score for “Jon of Interest” is competing with Ludwig Göransson’s “Openheimer,” the late Robbie Robertson’s “Killers of the Flower Moon,” Studio Ghibli’s composer Joe Hisaishi’s “The Boy and the Hero,” and Black Midi and Black, among others. In the Country Music category, Jarskin Fendricks, a collaborator on the New York’s Lanthimos film “Pure Things,” stands out. Additionally, Taylor Swift is nominated for her Era Tour film in the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement category.

Bradley Cooper’s biopic “Maestro” about Leonard Bernstein has received multiple nominations, including Best Motion Picture (Drama), where The Jon of Interest is also nominated. Bradley Cooper is in the running for Best Director and Best Actor. Carey Mulligan has been awarded Best Actress in a Motion Picture (Drama) for her role in the same film.

On the TV front, Daisy Jones and Six are nominated for Best Limited Series (Anthology or TV Movie), with Riley Keough and Sam Claflin securing nominations for their performances. In the Best Music/Comedy categories, Fantasia Berina is recognized for her role in The Color Purple film, and on the TV side, Selena Gomez gets a nod for Only Murders in the Building.

The Golden Globes will be broadcast on CBS on January 7, marking the network’s first airing since 1982. Interestingly, in 2022, when Billie Eilish and Finneas won Best Original Song, the show wasn’t televised. This led to criticism regarding the lack of diversity among the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s members. The HFPA addressed these concerns by increasing diversity, appointing a Chief Diversity Officer, and partnering with NBC.
